Terms of service

Eligibility and agreement

You must be at least 21 years old, legally able to enter a contract, and permitted to use the service where you live. You must provide accurate account and verification information, use only your own identity, and keep your credentials secure. Creating an account or using 1Twenty means you accept these terms and the policies below.

The service

1Twenty provides consent-focused matching, short live video dates, member-controlled preferences, blocking, reporting, and—after a mutual Like—connection features. A match is not a guarantee of compatibility, identity, safety, conduct, or future contact. Features may change during beta, and we may pause a feature to protect members or the service.

Your license and content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant 1Twenty a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, display, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the service. You represent that you have the rights and consent needed for anything you upload or share.

Account enforcement

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts; remove content; cancel matches; preserve evidence; and cooperate with lawful requests when we reasonably believe a member violated these terms, created risk, or exposed the service to legal or security harm. Members may pause their own account and may request deletion subject to legal, safety, fraud, chargeback, and record-retention obligations.

Service limitations

The beta service is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, 1Twenty disclaims implied warranties and is not responsible for member conduct or offline interactions. Nothing here excludes liability or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. Do not meet offline until you are comfortable, tell someone you trust, control your transportation, and meet publicly.

Information collected

• Account identifiers, email address, session and authentication records.
• Profile details, approximate location, preferences, roles, interests, boundaries, and match decisions.
• Age-verification status and a hashed provider reference. 1Twenty is designed not to store identification images or full birth dates.
• Blocks, reports, moderator actions, subscriptions, promotions, and support communications.
• Device, browser, IP-derived security data, request logs, analytics, and service-performance events.

How information is used

We use information to authenticate members, enforce the 21+ gate, provide matching and video dates, count free decisions, operate subscriptions, prevent abuse, investigate reports, secure accounts, comply with law, provide support, and measure service reliability. Sensitive preferences are used for member-directed matching and safety controls—not for sale or cross-context behavioral advertising.

Service providers

Current infrastructure includes Clerk for authentication, Neon for database storage, Daily for private video rooms, Vercel for application hosting and analytics, Cloudflare for domain and DNS services, and—once activated—ID.me for age/identity verification and CCBill for payment processing. Providers receive only information needed for their function and handle it under their own terms and privacy commitments.

Video and messages

1Twenty does not enable recording of live dates as a standard feature. Daily transports audio and video. Other members could misuse external recording tools despite the prohibition. Demo videos are licensed fictional profiles and are not available members.

Retention and deletion

Active account data is retained while needed to provide the service. Security logs, reports, blocks, moderation records, billing records, and fraud evidence may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for safety, disputes, legal compliance, or enforcement. Verified deletion requests remove or de-identify eligible data; backups and legally required records may expire on a delayed schedule.

Your choices

You may edit profile data, pause your profile, block members, control sensitive matching preferences, request access or deletion, and opt out of non-essential communications. Privacy rights vary by jurisdiction; verified requests will be handled under applicable law. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.

SAFETY & CONDUCT

Community standards

Consent must be informed, specific, freely given, and reversible. A preference, category match, prior interaction, or Like never replaces consent. Stop immediately when consent is withdrawn.

Never permitted

• Minors, minor-presenting sexual content, age ambiguity, grooming, or attempts to evade age verification.
• Sexual violence, coercion, trafficking, exploitation, blackmail, threats, stalking, or non-consensual content.
• Recording, distributing, or threatening to distribute another person’s image, video, messages, identity, or private information without explicit permission.
• Harassment, hate, dehumanization, impersonation, fraud, spam, solicitation, prostitution, illegal goods, or financial scams.
• Weapons, credible threats, self-harm encouragement, or conduct creating an immediate danger.
• Account sharing, verification transfer, ban evasion, automated scraping, reverse engineering, or interference with blocking/reporting controls.

Reports and emergencies

Leave a date immediately if you feel unsafe, then block and report the member. Underage concerns receive urgent priority; credible threats receive elevated review. 1Twenty is not an emergency service. Contact local emergency services when anyone is in immediate danger. Reports must be truthful and made in good faith.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

Billing, renewals, and refunds

Each eligible free member receives five server-counted Like/Pass decisions. After the fifth decision, an active membership is required. Planned prices are $5 weekly, $10 monthly, or $60 yearly. The checkout page will show the exact price, billing interval, taxes or fees, renewal terms, and any promotion before purchase.

Subscriptions automatically renew at the selected interval until cancelled. Cancellation stops future renewal and normally leaves access active through the paid period. Deleting or pausing a profile does not automatically cancel billing. Members must use the provided cancellation method or contact billing support. Refund rights, cooling-off periods, and cancellation timing required by applicable law are honored. Chargebacks do not replace contacting support and may result in account restriction while investigated.

Promo codes may have eligibility, expiration, plan, redemption, and geographic limits. Unless checkout says otherwise, promotions apply only to the stated period and renewals continue at the displayed regular rate.

RIGHTS & REQUESTS

Copyright and legal requests

Do not upload content you do not own or have permission to use. Rights holders may submit a notice identifying the protected work, the allegedly infringing material and location, contact information, a good-faith statement, an accuracy/authority statement under penalty of perjury, and a physical or electronic signature. We may remove material and terminate repeat infringers. Law-enforcement and preservation requests must identify the issuing authority, legal basis, account or data sought, and response deadline.

Until then, 1Twenty remains a controlled beta and does not collect payment.
